I. To promote the Borderless Classroom policy in Taipei City and to make the promotion of international education in Taipei City more comprehensive, in-depth, and widespread, the Bureau promulgated the "Taipei City 2023 Deepening International Education Award (IEA) Guidance and Certification Implementation Plan" in 2023.
II. To enable schools in the city to continue deepening international education, the "2024 Deepening International Education Award (IEA) Guidance and Certification Implementation Plan" is hereby issued. Some plan contents have been revised based on the execution of the 2023 plan. Details are as follows:
(a) Adjustment of Project Schedule: The overall project schedule is advanced. After the issuance of this plan, an application briefing session and a 2023 mid-year workshop will be held in March. Schools will complete project applications by the end of April, and the Bureau will complete project review and budget allocation by the end of July.
(b) For schools that have passed the Advanced and Excellent certifications, the certification is valid for 3 years. Considering the time gap between the certification review in 2023 and the application and execution of the next academic year's plan, schools with Advanced and Excellent certifications may apply for the 2024 plan before the announcement of the Phase 2 certification results of the 2023 academic year (approximately October 2024). Upon approval, the second half of the year's budget will be disbursed first. If the 2023 certification is passed, the incentive will be disbursed in the following year as planned; the budget for the applied plan will not be disbursed again.
(c) Provision of "Bilingual Vocabulary Query System": The IEA plan includes indicators such as "Establishing an internationalized campus environment with foreign language/bilingual services" and "Establishing foreign language/bilingual web information related to international education." The city government's "Bilingual Vocabulary Query System" is provided for schools to refer to.
(d) In accordance with the Ministry of Education's policy, the name "Ministry of Education's Elementary and Secondary International Education 2.0" has been revised to "Ministry of Education's Elementary and Secondary International Education Medium-Term Plan".
(e) Added resources to assist schools in finding partner schools abroad.
III. Schools interested in participating in this plan are requested to submit one copy each of the application form (WORD file), the stamped application form (PDF file), and the stamped budget estimate (PDF file) (Attachment 2 of the plan) to the Bureau before the deadline.
IV. Attached are one copy each of the implementation plan and the budget estimate form.
